good news for magazine publishers???

this one goes in the not so obvi.us category as I’m not sure why…

i don’t pay any attention to online/web ads, even when using the browser on my iPad,

yet, so far i do pay attention to the ads within pubs like People, iPhone Life and other mags that i read on my iPad. not all of them are interactive, though those that are tend to be pretty engaging and informative.

maybe it’s the ‘newness’ with having the mags in digital format rather than print.

maybe it’s the fact that they are on my iPad and i’m a tech geek.

maybe it’s due to the ads typically filling the screen so they are not competing with other content…even from a facing page.

whatever the reason, if the trend continues for me and plays out the same for other e-mag readers, it certainly bodes well for the publishers.

so, maybe there’s an obvi.us conclusion after all…mag publishers need to stop wasting money printing and mailing me hardcopies and just start making all their titles digital with interactive ad capabilities.

anyone else experiencing the same?
